FSTDT/Nightmare Fuel
- Some of the people quoted are in government.
- Amusingly, on the top of that page it says "The High Octane Nightmare Fuel Award". They are aware of troping wikis.
- The description of a straight camp.
- The realization that Ronald E. Williams's boarding school is still open, and parents still send their daughters there.
- The fact that most of the posters are dead serious. SWEET DREAMS!
- Here is a handy guide to raising your kids to stop them from being "wilful." By torturing babies until they learn not to cry while being tortured. Make sure to scroll down to Mad the Swine's comment for more handy hints on soundproofing your house so the neighbours don't hear the screams. To avoid some misunderstandings if you choose not to follow the link, Mad the Swine is in NO WAY endorsing this behavior, but simply pointing out how it doesn't seem as atypical as one might think, since this information was found on another Christian child-rearing site.
- From the above site, a description of one of the basic tenets of "Biblical" parenting: Obedience is freedom.
- The late Jack Hyles, another Complete Monster who advocated the most horrific forms of child abuse. This guy encouraged beating children until they "cry tears of a broken will". What's even worse is that he claimed our natural disgust at such a horrific punishment is our natural man trying to rebel against god.
- Sometimes the responses posted are more frightening than the actual quotes. On one occasion, the OP had stated that slavery as practiced by the Old Testament Hebrews wasn't analogous to Civil War-era slavery in the American South; rather, it was comparable to indentured servitude and acted as a means of paying off debt through labor (a statement that, while not entirely accurate, is basically true). In response, the OP was labeled "another retarded American promoting slavery", a "stupid bitch", an "ignorant racist", and told that she should be stripped of all her personal rights and beaten daily so she can experience the slavery she was "promoting" firsthand.
- Then there was Brigged a person who believed that atheists should plan on how to end all religions and their fundamentalists.
- It's a general rule that for every disturbing quote there'll be at least one disturbing comment. He Who Fights Monsters...
- One man's suggested treatment of the women who participate in the Edmonton SlutWalk. It's the final line that clinches it: "If your wife is one of them, I'm very very sorry. Maybe a good rape might make her a little more manageable around the house." Once can only hope this is a Poe talking.
Every woman marching in the Edmonton Slut Walk is publicly declaring herself a slut. This means every woman there desires sex with any and all partners. Any sexual activity you initiate with them comes with implied consent. They cannot say no, and if they do understand all their 'no's mean yes. They are all asking for it. They want it bad. Now. From you. Go get 'em!
- Sometimes it's just the beliefs which are downright terrifying. Case in point, Vincent Cheung, who believes in a "god" who causes billions to suffer for his own glory. He then claims that humans are the one who think too highly of themselves if they think their suffering isn't worth god's glory.
- Then there's this post where the poster outright says that those who never heard of Christ will be tortured forever in hell. He even includes the Jews who suffered at the hands of the nazis, and doesn't have a problem with it.
