Dwarves/Characters
Due to the fact that this series contains Loads and Loads of Characters these list is nowhere near complete but instead tries to lists the most important characters. Please note that there are tropes and characters that do not show up until books 3 and 4 which have not been released in English yet.
Tungdil Goldhand
Tungdil is a dwarf adopted by The Archmage Lot-Ionan and who longs for adventure. When tasked to journey to the dwarven king to be a pawn in his Xanatos Gambit he manages to find his own way and starts his quest to save the world for the first time...
- The Hero: In the first 2 books. In the later books this role shifts to Boïndil together with the point of view.
- The Blacksmith: Like most dwarves he enjoys smithing
- Genius Bruiser: Due to being adopted by Lot-Ionan he is very smart and Boïndil teaches him to kick ass later.
- The Chosen One: Subverted with the fact that he is only candidate for king because it is a part of the king's gambit.
- Good Is Not Nice: In book 4
- Took a Level in Badass: Several throughout the series especially His power boost in book 4
- An Axe to Grind
Boïndil
He and his brother are first ordered to guard Tungdil but this slowly blossoms into a life-long relationship as they accompany him on his quests.
- The Hero: From book 3 onward the story is told from Boïndil's point of view
- Back-to-Back Badasses: Together with his brother Boëndal
- The Berserker: Gets angry if he cannot fight for a long time and is often completely obvlious to the world around him while fighting.Gets better over time though
- My Greatest Failure: In the backstory, Killing the one girl he loved in his berserker rage.
- An Axe to Grind: Actually uses 2
- Dual-Wielding: Fights with 2 axes
- Bash Brothers: They are twins
Boëndal
Boïndil's twin brother and the only one able to cool him down. Is much calmer than Boïndil but still an amazing fighter.
- Back-to-Back Badasses: Together with his brother Boïndil
- Put on a Bus: Is frequently wounded forcing the group to go on without him and his ability to cool heads
- Killed Off for Real: in book 2
- Bash Brothers: They are twins
- An Axe to Grind
Rodario
An actor they pick up along the way who constantly brags about his actor skills. Turns out he really IS that good...
- Chivalrous Pervert
- Large Ham
- Ladykiller in Love: Develops a fondness for Andokai, who makes it clear she isn't interested.
- Master of Disguise: Frequently disguises as Nod'Onn to fool the orcs
- The Casanova
Lot-Ionan
Lot-Ionan is one of the realm's archmages, he is a kind old man that adopted Tungdil and is a like a father to him.
- The Archmage: He is not the only one though
- Killed Off for Real: Pretty early in book 1
- He came Back from the Dead in book 3 though
- Sacrificial Lion: He and the other archmages were killed by Nod'Onn pretty early
- Face Heel Turn: In book 4
Nudin/Nod'Onn
The big bad of book 1, originally an archmage but he let the evil of the perished land take over his mind.
- The Archmage: Nudin used to be one of them
- Big Bad: Of the first book
- Million Mook March: Has thousands of orcs, ogres and other creatures under his command

- Achilles' Heel: Can only be killed by keenfire. If wielded by a thirdling
