Dragon Pink
Dragon Pink is a three-part erotic anime series, released by Pink Pineapple in 1994. It is based on an incomplete, four volume manga by Itoyoko 1990, currently only translated into Spanish for release exclusively in Spain. This title was also made into a video game, Dragon Pink: The Zero Castle, released in 1992.
Dragon Pink takes place in a world parodying a generic role-playing game and centers around a catgirl slave named Pink, owned by a "hero" named Santa, who in turn is accompanied by a barbarian warrior named Bobo and a female elf mage named Pierce.
The series depicts their misadventures, and erotic escapades, as the party travels around the fantasy kingdoms embarking on various quests, all made in the hopes of glory, fame, and treasure, and loaded full of playful jabs at Japanese CRPG tropes.
- Badass: Pierce, Bobo, Santa and later Princess Delta can deliver a lot of kick ass: there's a reason for why the forces of evil are so interested of getting rid of them.
- Blessed with Suck: After being cursed, the plain human Pink transforms into a catgirl. Now she enjoys the benefits of nocturnal vision, enhanced agility, speed, flexibility, quick healing, etc... too bad that on that society, catgirls are considered as nothing but sex pets, who rank even lower than a normal slave and gets discriminated everywhere.
- Beauty Is Never Tarnished: During the manga, Pink suffers some brutal mauling and even internal injuries, but a few pages later she's OK again, still feeling pain but without any permanent scar.
- It's implied that one side effect of her cat-slave curse involves quick healing to always keep her in top condition.
- Butt Monkey: Pink fills this role on her party, being humiliated and forced to be the victim in their numerous plots. Pink gets literally screwed from time to time... whether by her party's leader, or by various fairies, monsters and demons.
- The Cameo: Mink, the dragon girl protagonist from Dragon Half appears in both the manga and OVA adaptation... being raped by a huge monster. In the original manga she's raped to death, but in the animated adaptation Pink's party manages to save her, which starts the episode's plot.
- Mink is also a random enemy on Dragon Pink's computer RPG.
- Catgirl: Pink.
- Clothing Damage: Pink is the biggest offender of this (of course) but every time her clothes are destroyed, she gets a new and completely different set to replace them.
- Curse: Pink is a normal human; her catgirl status is the product of a curse.
- Princess Delta the Third looks like a little girl on her early teens. She's actually 24 years old, suffering a curse that sealed her power and trapped her into a smaller, weaker frame. She can temporally recover her normal shape and abilities under the right conditions, though.
- Dark Fantasy: No matter how much sugar they shovel on...
- Defeat by Modesty: Santa uses this to defeat the mind-controlled Anne without having to hurt her.
- Depraved Bisexual: The demonic sisters Gold and Silver, full stop.
- Deus Sex Machina: Pierce recharges her magic by having sex. In the middle of battle, no less.
- In an odd application of the trope, Pierce is surprised when in Episode 11 of the manga, she discovers she's pregnant with Bobo's baby - it's implied that sex mages like Pierce have fertility problems. Also odd for the genre, both her and Bobo are ecstatic at the news. In episode 16, the baby actually disables a Power Nullifier for her despite being too early in its development to change her figure. She goes into labor in chapter 23, and gives birth in chapter 24.
- Graphics Induced Super Deformed: The computer RPG adaptation suffered hard from this for the overworld sprites.
- Happiness in Slavery: Played with: Pink absolutely hates being a cat-slave (among other things, she gets discriminated everywhere) but she's fine with being Santa's slave and hanging with her adventurer partners - in fact, she refuses to part ways with him when she gets the chance.
- Hyperspace Mallet: When Santa's behavior becomes too unbearable, Pink smashes him with a giant wooden mallet that pops out from nowhere. (In the original Manga version, Pink used a giant, spiked iron mace.)
- The Immodest Orgasm: Pink, full stop. Just out of spite, she cranks it to eleven to get sure that Anne, who was quickly developing a crush on Santa, would know exactly what they were doing all night long. Anne's room was at the other corner of the inn.
- Intimate Healing: See Deus Sex Machina, above.
- "It's Not Rape If You Enjoyed It": To avoid dying as a virgin after accepting to go on a dangerous quest, Santa rapes Pink during the first chapter. Pink's extreme masochism and naughtiness made her enjoy the ordeal so much that she gained two experience levels.(The manga is an RPG parody after all.)
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Santa releases Pink, gives her his armor and weapon to sell and asks her to use that money to go away and start a new, happier life, right when his curse is about to kill him. She refuses.
- Jerkass: Santa. He not only treats Pink like dirt, forces her to have sex when she's not in the mood anymore, uses his teammates as his personal servants, steals food from passing farms, beats up and steals money from thieves, etc. The only reason why he's not a complete jerkass is that he truly cares for his team mates and truly loves Pink, but he must be near death to swallow his pride and admit it.
- In one occasion, Delta asked him to lend Pink to her so she could use her as bait to lure out two demonic sisters, and Santa freaked out... because Delta expected him to lend her Pink for free.
- Limited Wardrobe: Averted HARD. Pink's group is constantly changing and improving their adventurer's gear, and Pink herself gets new and different clothes whenever her old ones gets damaged or destroyed. If no new clothes are available to her, she's seen wearing rags or a bikini made with bedsheets until she extorts new duds from Santa.
- Menstrual Menace: Princess Delta temporally recovers her real body and immense magic powers when she's splashed with fresh blood... or during that time of the month.
- Modesty Towel: Pink wraps herself with a towel whenever she gets to sleep at an inn. Justified as she uses that time to wash her only set of clothes, which leaves her with nothing to wear until they have dried.
- Naughty Tentacles: Of course.
- One Curse Limit: A magic sword obtained after defeating a monster had a death curse on it: Santa immediately falls sick and his lifeforce is slowly being drained away, but Pink (who's already cursed) is not affected.
- Outdoor Bath Peeping: During early chapters, Santa and Bobo spy on Pink and Pierce while they are bathing on a lake. (Pierce nukes them with a spell, though.)
- Out with a Bang: After being molested by a water nymph in the second episode, the nymph turns into water and enters a girl through her privates... and then literally invokes the trope to reform. Implied to be completely orgasmic for both parties.
- In the third episode is a Japanese-styled lamia who rapes Pink with a snake/blowfish hybrid. She being a catgirl and made of sterner stuff like all typical catgirls, manages to survive this however....barely. For all the human girls the lamia kidnaps and rapes this trope more than likely comes into effect, however.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Pink.
- Role Playing Game Verse
- RPG Mechanics Verse
- Running Gag: The severed head of the previously defeated bad guys appear at the beginning of every manga volume, complaining about their defeat.
- Sex Slave: Pink. Gold and Silver also keep some male ones, who are raped to the point of exhaustion and then killed once they can't perform anymore.
- Too Kinky to Torture: Whips, ropes and humilliations only excite Pink, even if she doesn't wants to. She can still feel the pain, though.
