- Complete Monster: Pratchett manages the feat of making the New Death one of these with only a handful of lines. It's clear that if he hung around longer, people would have every reason in the world to fear death.
Death: A crown? I never wore a crown!
New Death: You never wanted to rule.
- Macekre: Inverted. According to Word of God, someone once claimed to him that the book was somehow actually better in the German translation. Any German speakers who have read both versions, elaboration would be welcome!
- Unfortunate Implications: One-Man-Bucket is descended from an obvious Expys of Native Americans/Canadians who immigrated to Ankh Morpork but his main motivations are fighting and drinking.
