Dinky Drivers/Playing With
Basic Trope: A group of small characters have to work together to operate a vehicle.
- Straight: The Tropers, a species of two-inch-tall beings, try to drive a car so they can get across town quickly. They divide the work equally, Bob handling the pedals, Alice handling the steering, Charlie shifting the gears, and David watching for traffic.
- Exaggerated: The Tropers need to operate a planet-sized Space Station to get across the galaxy. Each troper handles a separate component, stacking on top of each other to reach some of the hard to reach buttons.
- Downplayed: Two kids work together to operate a car, one on the floor pushing the pedals, and one on top doing the rest.
- Justified: Cars were not designed for tiny people, so they must work together to handle all of the components.
- Inverted: The gargantuan Tropers need five cars apiece to get anywhere.
- Subverted: The Tropers need to get across town quickly, so they sneak aboard a subway car going in the proper direction.
- Double Subverted: When the subway operator suddenly collapses, the Tropers take over the controls.
- Parodied: ???
- Deconstructed: Due to their lack of driving knowledge and practice, the Tropers end up driving their hijacked car into a crowd of people.
- Reconstructed: To prevent injuring people when they need to drive a car, the Tropers teach themselves how to drive and spend hours on coordinated driving exercises.
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted:
- The Tropers are normal-sized characters and can operate vehicles normally.
- The tiny Tropers drive appropriately tiny vehicles.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded: "Okay, guys, we need to get across town fast! Who's got the ropes and semaphores?"
- Invoked: ???
- Defied: The Tropers take a cab.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
