Despera is a prequel to Serial Experiments Lain
- Obviously lack of backing for this so far, but hey, the possibility's out there. Perhaps we'll get to see how the Wired, Protocol 7 and the Knights (or their precursors) came into being. Given that it takes place so far in the past, it may even offer an explanation as to who and what Lain was prior to her reverse Apotheosis.
