Dawn of the Dead (1978 film)/Trivia
- The Elevator From Ipanema: The muzak playing in the elevator is a rendition of "All Out Of Love", not "The Girl from Ipanema".
- Hey, It's That Guy!:
- One for the Brits. In the remake, once the zombies break into the mall, comedian and TV show host Alex Zane can be seen. He's the guy in the white checkered shirt.
- In the remake, Ana is played by a grown-up Ramona Quimby. Meanwhile, in the Phony Newscast from the remake's DVD features, the newscaster is Dr. Franklin, whose final newscast includes an audio message from the President of the United States, most likely named John Sheridan.
- In the original, Peter later goes on to be Kenan Thompson's dad.
- Phil, for all his dorkiness can be quite the Jerkass in the remake.
- The remake has a small role played by Max Headroom.
- Throw It In: Many of Tom Savini's brilliant makeup effects were improvised. And they look great.
- What Could Have Been:
- Traumatic C-Section: During the making of the original movie, a pregnant extra suggested her character should be shown having her baby ripped out by the zombies. Romero and SFX guru Tom Savini gave a resounding "No. Just... No" Reaction.
