Crazy Taxi (series)/Trivia

  • Unintentional Period Piece: The iconic soundtrack features songs by The Offspring and Bad Religion that were released in the late 90's, helping to fit into the Totally Radical 90's punk-like nature of the game. However, what really cements the game (or at least its original 1999 release and later sixth generation console ports) as a product of the late 90's is the inclusion of product placement for Tower Records, which went out of business in 2006. Later re-releases of the game remove the product placement, but the 90's attitude still remains mostly the same.
  • Working Title: Crazy Taxi 3 was originally announced as Crazy Taxi Next.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • During the development of Crazy Taxi Next, the game was meant to have online multiplayer and an in-game day/night cycle. The concepts were dropped when the game was reworked into Crazy Taxi 3.
    • Ever since the peak of its popularity, there have been several attempts over the years to create a film adaptation, but after going through various studios and hands, nothing has surfaced.
