Country Matters/Headscratchers
- See You Next Tuesday. It doesn't work, it's half homophone and half acronym.
- That's the point, it's supposed to be at least mildly difficult to decipher. The idea being that you can say it and it might take those around you just a bit longer to get it. Or something.
- Just say "cunt" and be done with it. Takes like .2 seconds as well.
- Unfortunately, See You In Tea doesn't make sense.
- If you slightly change your accent you spell cunt, just like the way If You See Kay works.
- That's the point, it's supposed to be at least mildly difficult to decipher. The idea being that you can say it and it might take those around you just a bit longer to get it. Or something.
- How come it's considered the height of sexism to call a woman a cunt but it's perfectly acceptable to call a man a prick or a dick?
- Where you live it might be perfectly acceptable, but where I live, telling somebody "You're such a prick!" is considered a bit rude.
- I didn't mean it isn't considered to be an insult, but women seem to get angry about being called a cunt because they think you are defining them by the only part of their body that a sexist male would care about: the vagina. Nobody seems to care about men being defined by their genitals.
- It's a rather... unfortunate Double Standard, but until people realize that using "dick" as an insult is pretty much the same thing, it's a Double Standard that'll keep happening.
- There isn't a how or why of it. It's just true. Transgress this taboo at your peril. Go ahead and try.
- It's not sexism, certainly not in the UK. 'Cunt' is seen as one of the worst swear words there is regardless of who it is aimed at - a work with 'Dick' in it can easily be PG, a work with 'cunt' in it is automatically at least 15. And what makes one word rude and another not is largely culturally determined rather than by logic anyway; really speaking being called a 'cunt' or a 'dick' is about as insulting as being called a 'nose' or a 'lung'
- Maybe it also has something to do with the fact the Dick is a legitimate shortening of Richard for some reason, so using it as an insult isn't as effective.
