Concession/YMMV
- Base Breaker: Increasingly, Matt.
- And Artie as the comic comes closer to its finale what with him becoming more of a Magnificent Bastard than Joel could ever hope to be. Once someone who had a vibe of being a good natured slacker, attaining Melusine as his Spiritual Symbiote has brought him to the same path as our former 'Hero' and is likely becoming WORSE!
- In the wake of Matt's apparently willing and aware embrace of Joel's supervillainy, the fanbase reaction seems to have charted a course for Draco in Leather Pants.
- Complete Monster: Joel is clearly this what with his revenge plot. Artie looks to be heading in this direction according to recent strips.
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: Joel's psychic battles with Father Tim and Artie. And more recently, Millicent, which was even creepier.
- Chelsie is pretty damn scary. As is Kate's reasoning behind keeping her little harem; the knowledge that some people think this is a reasonable argument is terrifying. Mercifully the author's demonstrated he doesn't think so.
- Follow the url in the alt text for this comic. Go here if you need help. If the letters don't creep you out, Miranda's infected version of the site, complete with drawings never on the regular site to begin with will give you absolute chills.
- Memetic Badass: The Baron became this in the space of a single comic.
- Immelmann changing his sig. on the forum didn't help.
Immy hypnotized in bondage: "Vote for The Baron" f5 "Gentlemen prefer the Baron" f5 "I want the Baron's babies." etc.
- The signature cycles through exactly 27 different phrases. Out of these, only one isn't Baron-related.
- Moral Event Horizon: There are several different points when Joel could be seen to have crossed it, perhaps most notably revealing that he was the one who gave Artie cancer and then he keeps going.
- Artie himself had a moment, making the oil tanker crash into the Dolphin city. However, it's ambiguous if he actually fully intended to do it.
- Narm: Last panel of this page.
- And this one.
- Matt's big damn speech he gives to Artie would be much easier to take seriously if he wasn't drawn wearing bright blue bike-shorts and a skin-tight t-shirt.
- Narm Charm: Part of the comic's overall appeal.
- Shocking Swerve: Comic #374.
- Squick: Chelsie's adventures embody it. Joel's tentacular psychic form is pretty disturbing as well.
- Nicole and Roland end up breaking up, and Nicole hooking up with his own father. They live happily ever after. Um... yay..?
- Tastes Like Diabetes: A repeated guest comic joke shows Joel's nightmares to be a Sugar Bowl.
- Vagina Dentata: Last panel.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Zoe is actually a male crossdresser.
