Safety

• "Easy to Please", from their second ever public release (an EP by the name Brothers & Sisters) may well be the most beautiful song they've ever done.

Parachutes

• "Sparks" is both truly depressing and beautiful.
• Some hold that there is no better Coldplay track than "Everything's Not Lost", though "Shiver" comes a close second.
• How has "Yellow" not found a spot on the list yet?
  • An excellent question. I've no answer for you, but the question is excellent.
• "Spies".

A Rush Of Blood To The Head

• "Clocks" is fucking amazing.
  • "Animals", its B-side.
• Really? No mention of "The Scientist"? For shame!
  • Nothing can compare to "The Scientist".
  • An infusion of Mario makes it even more beautiful.
  • It wouldn't do to overlook the B-side "I Ran Away".
• "Amsterdam" can be used for a pick-me-up whenever shit gets real.
• "God Put a Smile on Your Face". If that doesn't get you head nodding, or your toes tapping, or something, your heart is a block of fucking concrete.
  • On the topic of "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face", the live remix mashes it up with "Talk", adds some dance elements, and pretty much pushes the whole thing Up to Eleven.
• "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is a quiet-awesome type of song.
  • In a way, it's the sound of self-justified madness.
• Seriously? No "Warning Sign"? It's awesome and the final lines just stay in your head.
  • Seconded. Might be the best song of their career, with the awesome strings and the downright beautiful ending.
• "In My Place". Especially the intro. It even gets away with ripping off Ride, because that beat is just so fat.
• "Politik"

X&Y

• "Speed of Sound" is inspiring.
• "Fix You" will make anyone want to cry.
  • And if it by some miracle doesn't, listen to this incredible rendition by an old man. A dying old man. You'll never hear this song again without tearing up.
• "Till Kingdom Come".
• The frequently ignored (or maybe just no very publicized) "Twisted Logic" has one of their most absurd and yet most brilliant lyrics, backed up by instrumentals that make me shiver inside every time I hear it.
  • It could very well be the theme song for WALL-E.
• "White Shadows"
• Amazing songs that somehow aren't here yet, where's the B-side to "Speed of Sound"? That's a thing that I don't understand.
• "Talk". A space-rock tune with a riff borrowed from one of Kraftwerk's best tunes? Totally awesome.
  • Its B-side, "Sleeping Sun", is worth a mention too.

Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends

• "Viva La Vida" is an awesome song. It's just distilled beauty. "Death and All His Friends" shouldn't be sold short either.
  • It's even better live.
  • Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is probably the most magical thing Coldplay created.
• To say nothing of "Yes", "Cemeteries of London", and "Lost!" ...Aw, hell, Viva La Vida is pretty much a Crowning Album of Awesome.
  • If you think that version of "Lost!" is the best , think again.
• "Cemeteries of London" is one of my favourite songs.
• "Violet Hill" is brilliant, and should not be ignored as much as it is.
• "Strawberry Swing", anyone?
• "Life in Technicolor"
• "Lovers in Japan" does not get nearly enough love. Probably doesn't help that is was overshadowed by Viva la Vida.

Prospekt's March

• "Prospekt's March".
• Don't forget "Life in Technicolor II" and its hilarious video.
  • The mix everyone really wants: "The Escapist" dissolving right into Life I/II. "This is how it should be." And should it ever.
• Prospekt's March just adds to the awesome.
• "Glass of Water".
• "Rainy Day".

Mylo Xyloto

• You may not recognize "Spanish Rain," which is okay, because it hasn't actually been released yet. This needs to change soon.
• "Charlie Brown". Quite possibly the most Epic Riff in a discography full of them.
  • It was already being used in British advertising before the album was even released.
• "Paradise", to the point that it's became an Audience Participation Song before the release.
• "Don't Let It Break Your Heart" is one of the most whimsical beautiful songs ever.
• "Us Against the World". Just. All the feelings.
• "Princess Of China". That song is EPIC, once you get past the pop (over)production and Rihanna, it's frickin' awesome.

Other

• LeftRightLeftRightLeft, the free live album from the Coldplay website can make any fan happy. In some of the songs, the audience's clapping becomes a part of the song.
• "Christmas Lights," the band's 2010 Christmas single, is utterly beautiful, and the music video features, among other things, Elvis impersonators playing violins, a self-playing piano, fireworks, and fish puppets. Hell, this song is the musical equivalent of An Asskicking Christmas. Bravo, Coldplay.
• "Fight For Your Right". One of the most heartfelt tributes this editor's ever heard.
