Chic/YMMV
- Breakaway Pop Hit: they wrote and produced Carly Simon's hit "Why" for the film Soup For One. The film and even the soundtrack album have long since slipped into obscurity, but the song remains familiar and has attracted quite a few cover versions.
- Sampled Up: Although it's a session remake rather than a direct sample, "Rapper's Delight" by Sugarhill Gang effectively did this to "Good Times"... briefly. Though now the two songs are probably about equally well-known, not least because the rip-off is so infamous. Rodgers and Edwards actually liked "Rapper's Delight" and incorporated bits of it into their own live performances later on - they just didn't like not getting paid for it. It was all sorted out in the end.
- Also "Soup For One", known to the rest of the world as Modjo's "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)".
