Cats & Dogs/YMMV

  • Contested Sequel: when Kitty Galore was announced, many people were somewhat skeptical as to why a fairly mediocre family spy spoof needed a sequel. Close to a decade after the first. Not to mention its horrendously low Rotten Tomatoes score. Of course, YMMV if it's justified or not.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: the James Bond-esque title music of the sequel. Which is a remix of Pink's album song, "Get the Party Started," sung by Shirley Bassey. Found here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqNcyFNMfLM
  • Fridge Brilliance: The sequel has a quick joke about the "spread of feline extremism." This helps to explain why cats were originally regarded as evil- It's equivalent to how so many Americans think of Arabs. And of course, even if the majority of enemies we face all are the same race/religion, they are only the worst of the bunch. So Catherine's like an Arab in counter-terrorism.
    • A quick comment by Catherine indicates that MEOWS' primary purpose is to protect humanity from canine threats (their claim of jurisdiction on Kitty Galore is her being ex-MEOWS), just as DOG focuses on feline threats. Of course both sides are going to be reflexively suspicious of the other: they keep on meeting the worst of the other species.
  • Fridge Horror: Where do you think Kitty Galore got her puppy outfit from?
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • Mr. Tinkles attempting to murder Lou's owners.
    • Kitty Galore mocking Catherine's desperate pleas and her inability to swim while lowering her and Diggs to drown in a container full of water.
  • Uncanny Valley
  • Unfortunate Implications: The good guys, the dogs, are all Americans and American Marines. The evil cats are: Two Siamese acting out Asian stereotypes, a Russian Blue with Russian accent and the terrorist Big Bad is a Middle Eastern breed.
