Cat Face
Catface. He's got a big cat face. He's got the body of a cat and the face of a cat. And he flies through the air 'cause he's got a cat face. CATFACE!
Catface is a series of shorts by Jonti "Weebl" Picking and can be found on Weebls-Stuff. It follows the adventures of the eponymous huge-headed flying cat.
Tropes used in Cat Face include:
- Another Dimension: Catface has a cat flap leading to one.
- Buffy-Speak: Often. For example, Catface refers to fireworks as "explodey-whizzy-bangs" at one point.
- Censor Box: Along with Sound Effect Bleep, whenever Gordon starts cursing, a bar covers his mouth filled with words related to what he's saying ("something about your mother" or "sexual slur involving a dog") and sometimes not ("Hello") - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idqunLHJ-Q0&feature=related
- Cloudcuckoolander: Catface. So much.
Catface: There is no ash flavored with fish in here. There is no poopy wood products favoured with beef. What is this? This is no good for me. I must go to the shops, yes.
- Expository Theme Tune: "Catface. He's got a big cat face. He's got the body of a cat and the face of a cat. And he flies through the air 'cause he's got a cat face. CATFACE!"
- Expressive Shirt: More like expressive BOX for Boxcat, who is never actually shown except for the box he's in. In one episode, his box sags when he becomes depressed.
- Fridge Logic: How is Catface able to wear his giant scarf over his tiny shoulders?
- Gratuitous French: Catface talks in a ridiculous French accent.
- High on Catnip: Double Subverted. Catface rubs himself against some catnip, following with a close-up of his dilating eyes and psychedelic music, implying he's going on a trip. Then it automatically zooms out and Catface tells Boxcat to stop playing the "crappy music". After yelling at his friend, Catface flies up and purrs until he runs into a lit lightbulb.
- Intelligible Unintelligible: Catface is able to perfectly understand everything Boxcat says despite the box mumbling his dialogue.
- Large Ham: Posh Tom.
- Lower Class Lout: The urban fox.
- Mind Screw: The entire short series.
- My Brain Is Big: Catface's head is VERY disproportionately larger than his small swaying body, which may also allow him to float off the ground. Not that he appears to have any brains (or at the least common sense) to back it up.
- Never Mess with Granny: The Old Lady takes appropriate action when Cat Face is kidnapped by a Crazy Cat Lady.
- Nightmare Face: Facecat. So much.
- Paper-Thin Disguise: During a stakeout, Boxcat wears a box with a crudely-drawn bush on the side, and the words "Not a cat in a box" written on the front.
- Sound Effect Bleep: Every time Gordon Ramsey yells out a curse, it's replaced by a bleep.
- Toilet Humour: Pops up occasionally, such as in episode 10.
Catface: We are not playing "Poo Jenga" now!
- The Unintelligible: Boxcat.
- Very Loosely Based on a True Story: According to the creator on "Weebl's Stuff", https://web.archive.org/web/20131213181051/http://www.weebls-stuff.com/catface/Cat+Face/, it's based on true events. It's unclear whether he's being sarcastic or not, though.
SILLY CATFACE!
