Tropes used in Casper's Scare School include:
- Academy of Adventure
- Anime Hair
- Bad Is Good and Good Is Bad: Alder and Dash take this very literally. They once punished Casper for giving a gift to one of the teachers, not because it could be considered a bribe, but because it was a nice thing to do.
- Blindfolded Vision: Cappy. In fact, when he has his blindness taken away he loses all sense of direction.
- Blond Guys Are Evil: Played straight with Norman [the skater], but averted with Jimmy
- Bumbling Dad: Jimmy's dad.
- Deadpan Snarker: Mantha
- Expy: Jimmy is similar to Chris from Casper: A Spirited Beginning. Due to both being "experts" in the supernatural.
- Extranormal Institute
- Five-Man Band:
- The Hero: Casper
- The Lancer: Ra
- The Smart Guy: Mantha
- The Big Guy: Wolfie
- The Chick (Team Fleshie): Jimmy
- A Fool and His New Money Are Soon Parted: Ra in "Rich Kid Ra", however he was already rich to begin with until an archaeologist raided his family's tomb.
- Freudian Trio:
- Casper (Superego)
- Mantha (Ego)
- Ra (Id)
- Hair of Gold: Jimmy and skater Norman's sister Bethica
- Humanity Ensues: In one episode, Wolfie was turned into a "fleshie", or human.
- Instant Fanclub: Ra in "The Ra-Minator", "Rich Kid Ra", and "Wiz Kid Ra".
- Jerkass: Alder and Dash; Thatch to a lesser extent
- Kids Are Cruel
- Lawful Stupid: Alder and Dash
- Lighter and Softer: The Ghostly Trio, so much that they actually care about Casper. Of course they still love to scare humans.
- Lovable Alpha Bitches: Mickey and Monaco
- Monster Mash
- Muggles
- Mythology Gag: Deedstown shares the same name as the town from Casper: A Spirited Beginning.
- Name's the Same: Two bullies with the same name, "Norman". One has brown hair in a mullet hairstyle, and the other is a blond skater in a beanie and red hoodie.
- Nice Guy: Casper
- Maybe too nice for his own good.
- Nurse with Good Intentions: The school nurse seems to be under the impression that her sadistic methods will cure her patients rather than making them worse.
- One Steve Limit: In a possibly accidental aversion, Jimmy has had two completely different bullies in different episodes, both named Norman.
- Only Six Faces: A lot of humans look basically the same, based on the same generic model. The monsters are mostly a Cast of Snowflakes.
- Our Monsters Are Different: Many of the creatures that would normally be former fleshies were never fleshies. Mantha was always a zombie, Ra was always a mummy, etc. The only characters that were confirmed to be formerly human were Fly Boy and his father.
- However, in the episode "Scare Day", after Mantha wins a scaring competition, she mentions this is the best day of her afterlife. This suggests she too was once a human, died, and then became a zombie.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Thatch isn't harmed by sunlight and doesn't have to drink blood to survive.
- Our Werewolves Are Different: Wolfie is perpetually a werewolf. When there's a full moon he turns into a bigger werewolf and loses all control.
- Our Zombies Are Different: Mantha is smart and agile. The walking slowly while chanting "Braaains..." routine is just a scare tactic zombies use. And though she does eat brains, it's not all she eats.
- Secret Keeper: Jimmy
- She's Not My Girlfriend: In "Possessed", one of the Normans called Mantha Casper's girlfriend.
Norman: Show me how to get home, and I won't mail your girlfriend's head to China.
Casper: She's not my--
Norman: Hmm, now where can I find a box big enough?
- Single-Minded Twins: Mickey and Monaco
- Skunk Stripe: Thatch
- Triclops
- Something Only They Would Say: To prove it's Wolfie (who turned human), Thatch asked him what he's done yesterday. Wolfie tells him of the prank he did to Alder and Dash, but he shuts Wolfie up and says he means about the prank on Casper.
- Terrible Trio: Thatch, Mickey and Monaco in the film
- Thatch, Slither, and Dummy Girl in the series.
- The Ghostly Trio
- Those Two Girls: Mickey and Monaco
- Three Amigos: Casper, Ra and Mantha.
- Token Good Teammate: Casper
- Town of Adventure
- Valley Girls: Mickey and Monaco
