Cartoonstitute
What was suppose to be the spiritual successor to What a Cartoon Show. Cartoonstitute was a project headed by Craig McCracken (Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends)[1] and Rob Renzetti (My Life as a Teenage Robot) that was meant to be a showcase for new animators to show off their works. The project only got a brief showing on Cartoon Network Video service on the net before quietly being shelved, with only 13 shorts being produced. These shorts are as follows:
- YES
- Meddlen Meadows
- Danger Planet
- Stockboys of the Apocalypse
- Baloobaloob's Fun Park
- Spleenstab
- The Borneos
- Le Door
- Maruined
- 3 Dog Band
- Joey to the World
- Regular Show [2]
- Uncle Grandpa [3]
- The Awesome Chronicles of Manny and Khan
Tropes used in Cartoonstitute include:
- One-Episode Wonder: Just about any of these, save Regular Show.
- Spiritual Successor: To What a Cartoon Show
- What Could Have Been: Was meant to be a TV series but for some reason CN just shoved it onto their video service.
- ↑ Also, the project was named by his wife, Lauren Faust
- ↑ The first short to be picked up as a series
- ↑ Which was retooled into Secret Mountain Fort Awesome
