Cartoon Network/YMMV
- And the Fandom Rejoiced:
- The announcement that Cartoon Network was going to bring back it's early original series for its twentieth anniversary. And Brak and Zorak are coming back to host!
- Four words: Toonami is Back Bitches.
- Network Decay: Need we say? Seriously, go look at the Unique Situations part of the Network Decay page, there's a whole section devoted to how Cartoon Network (and Adult Swim and Boomerang) did this trope.
- Dork Age:
- The early Snyder Era. Common complaints from this time included the cancellation of Sym-Bionic Titan, replacing CN City, removing Toonami and DC Nation (the former was temporary), and finally, the extremely controversial CN Real block, which many, including Craig McCracken, felt made the network lose what made it unique. Snyder would go on to redeem himself near the end of his tenure by greenlighting Adventure Time and Regular Show before being replaced by Christina Miller in 2014.
- After recovering from its first Dork Age through Adventure Time and Regular Show, the network fell right back into a new one with the debut of Teen Titans Go! It consistently brought in high ratings despite being one of the most hated cartoons in The New Tens, leading to the network becoming entirely dependent on it a la pre-2016 Nickelodeon's treatment of SpongeBob SquarePants. The fact that many more cartoons saw themselves sentenced to the Friday Night Death Slot or were Screwed by the Network in favor of TTG reruns was a major factor in CN losing the goodwill of the Peripheral Demographic they had built up in the past few years.
- Never Live It Down:
- CN Real, along with the continued attempts to apply live action shows to the Network are possibly more noticed than pretty much any of the Network's attempts to Win Back the Crowd.
- The network becoming entirely dependent on Teen Titans Go!, to the point of airing it anywhere from a third of the day to the entire day.
- Win Back the Crowd: It appears that after the Dork Age of the introduction of CN Real, Adventure Time and a few later shows helped earn back Cartoon Network's reputation.
- And then Teen Titans Go! and the oversaturation of said show sent it back to Network Decay in full force.
