Bulletstorm/YMMV

  • Cliché Storm: Possibly the game's alternate title. The design team have eagerly labeled the game as an homage to scifi schlock, with every trope in attendance writ large for the purposes of crass humor and ludicrously excessive violence. The result can be described as 1st Edition Rogue Trader by way of MadWorld.
  • Complete Monster: Sarrano, a Jerkass, Smug Snake, and genocidal maniac all rolled up into one extremely nasty, extremely foul-mouthed Big Bad. The scary part is that despite all that, he's actually quite competent.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: And how!
    • And then a third and fourth time.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: The game's got shared lineage with Painkiller and Unreal Tournament III. Hell yeah the music's gonna rock.
    • The score's real standout is the epic main theme, which plays over the main menu.
  • Freud Was Right: This trailer says the minigun is essentially an extention of Greyson's penis. Cue him yelling "Suck it!" after killing people with it.
  • Idiot Plot: Really, the events of the entire game could have been avoided if anyone had an ounce of common sense, but the entire game also runs on rules of cool and funny, and Bellisario's Maxim is in serious effect, so it kind of works.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Sarrano plows right through it time and time again. The first time, it's when he orders Gray and Co. to assassinate Trishka's father.
  • Ruined FOREVER: The PC version doesn't come with the Level Editor? IT SUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!![1].
  • Scenery Porn: Those backgrounds are just gorgeous.
    • Scenery Gorn: Stygia used to be a Tourist attraction until something went wrong and was abandoned. Some skillshots are also utilized with this trope.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: A lot of people really hate the fact that you can't jump(in spite of the fact that there's no real need to jump at any point in the game, and it would serve no real purpose) enough to turn them off the game completely.
    • Some players dislike the spongy crouch system.
  1. For all of you which don't understand this, up to Gears of War, Epic Games always included the Unreal Editor with the game. But now, the people of People Can Fly rejected that, and not only the editor is not included with the game, all the codes and ways to access it are gone as well. Cue a huge Internet Backdraft. It doesn't help that Epic themselves suggested using the Unreal Development Kit to create stuff, while the reason behind having a Level Editor with the game is to create stuff for that particular game
