Brothers in Arms (series)/Headscratchers

Just where did that "special" pistol in the third game come from? Not only was it not mentioned at all in the first two games, Baker lost all the weapons he entered the plane with on the way down and got a pistol from Mac right at the beginning of the first game.

  • It was given to Baker by his father, then he gave it back. Then it gets confusing - one of the Baker's Dozen gets his hands on it (somehow) and is killed on the plane heading to France. Somehow Baker's buddy in the Stuart gets a hold of it and uses it in his last stand. Then it gets more/less logical - Garnett retrieves it, then is killed along with Allen while on patrol with Leggett. Leggett takes it and uses it during the fight for Hill 30. After he dies, Matt gets it back again to replace the one Mac gave him.
  • It was mentioned in some of the unlockables in the first game as something that was removed from the story. Why they would put it back after two games and act like it was always there is beyond me. Baker's mom wouldn't let him keep the gun (he was just a kid) so his dad gave it to his George the stuart tank driver who was Matt's childhood friend.
  • It´s also pretty clear that the thing about it is that it is cursed, and it says "to Mathew" on the slide. It killed everyone who held it, exept for Matt. It deliberately made its way back to Matt and killed off its other users to pass on to somebody else. While this is hilariously unbelievable, "It is just a damn gun!", tossing it in the woods was probably the best outcome.
