Black Eyed Peas/YMMV

  • Critical Dissonance
  • Dork Age: Two critically panned albums and one unsuccessful album later, they'll probably be stuck in one for a while. Even better, they went on hiatus.
  • Ear Worm: Hear any song by them, and it will play in your head all day long!
  • Face of the Band: Either Fergie or will.i.am.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: To the Filipinos. Mainly because apl.de.ap influenced two songs by the band featuring Tagalog lyrics (Bebot and The APL Song), and about being a Filipino.
  • Hype Backlash: They experienced this hard as their Super Bowl performance was panned by critics and viewers alike; in the matter of two weeks their massive popularity was almost completely destroyed.
  • It's Popular, Now It Sucks: The group when comparing to before after adding Fergie to the lineup, which is when they switched to a more pop oriented sound and became more commercially successful.
  • I Am the Band: Will I Am's performance at the Silver Jubilee kind of confirmed this!
  • Moment of Awesome: The Peas' manager punching out Perez Hilton. There's also their performance at Super Bowl XLV, where they drop onto the stage from the ceiling.
  • Narm: will.i.am claiming "[he] be rockin' dem BEATZ!!!!1" on Boom Boom Pow, over a repetitive, tepid and rather beat free beat counts.
  • Never Live It Down: The Super Bowl halftime show performance, widely considered the worst yet. May be a factor in why they went on hiatus...
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: The Black Eyed Peas Experience, a pale attempt to capitalize on the Just Dance craze.
  • Sampled Up: "Misirlou" by "Pump It" (Dick Dale is not amused), as well as Sexual Harassment's "I Need A Freak" by "My Humps".
  • The Scrappy: Fergie. Not just in Black Eyed Peas, but arguably hip hop as a whole.
  • So Bad It's Good: "My Humps", at least for the lyrics alone.
    • Really, most of their work from The E.N.D. onward could qualify.
  • Uncanny Valley: The video for "Boom Boom Pow".
