Asian Kung-Fu Generation/YMMV

  • Crowning Moment of Funny:
    • Kita singing an improvised song, titled "Breakfast Minority", when hosting an online radio show.
    • Also, the members' "dancing" in the music video of "Kimi to Iu Hana".
    • ROCK AND ROLL DESU KA!
    • The commercial for Kimi Tsunagi Five M, which basically consists of the band members wearing sunglasses and randomly improvising while Gotoh shrieks things like "THANKS TO SOCIAL PROBLEMS, WE'RE ALL BROKE" into the microphone.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome:
    • The drums in "Blue Train" sound just like a train going over tracks.
    • Kiyoshi's drums on Atarashii Sekai. They're even more epic live.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming:
    • "Tightrope" and "Mayonaka to Mahiru no Yume".
    • Soon after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan in 2011, Asian Kung-Fu Generation wrote and released "On the Sand" to reach out to the victims. The only instruments are acoustic guitar and keyboard to keep the focus on the message.
  • Ending Fatigue: Several of their songs sound like they're about to end but start up again after a few seconds of silence, such as "Shiro ni Someru", "Tightrope", and the live version of "Uso to Wonderland". There's also "Mugen Glider", but considering the title (mugen means "infinity") it's probably deliberate.
  • Face of the Band:
    • Gotoh. To the point that the description of their weekly radio show basically says "Gotoh and the three other members".
    • Interestingly, Kiyoshi himself is the face the band Phonotones, which is constantly referred to as "Kiyoshi's new band".
  • The Scrappy: Daisuke Kanazawa, their touring keyboardist .
  • Tear Jerker: "Tightrope".
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: What a lot of people thought of Magic Disk.
