  • Supposedly, the reason why Fogg wins the bet is because he forgot that, when he crossed the International Time Line, he gained a day. However, when he arrives to New York to take the ship that should supposedly bring them to London, he finds out that the ship departed just a few minutes before they reached the port. I know this is just so that it adds drama to the situation, but had everything happened as it was said, Fogg would have arrived one day before the ship departed for London, not a few minutes late.
