  • The Scrappy: While the Son of Godzilla introduced the not-so-well liked Minya, there are many lovely moments and he is tolerable. But this movie cemented Minya's scrappy status.
  • Took the Bad Film Seriously: Honda directed it, the same man as the horrifying original but the commentator of the Classic Media release points out numerous things that tend to be taken for granted by snarkers. As the commentator put it 'Ichiro has become the new Gabera' and while the film makes it out that it's okay there maybe have been a bit of the end cut showing Ichiro's mother crying over his new delinquency. A commentary of changing Japanese culture and fear of the nation's youths out of control is all hidden behind one of the worst Godzilla movies ever.
