General Fics
Broken Bow by Davner

- Synopsis: This delves deeply into the older Norse mythology that underlies Ah! My Goddess. Particular focus on Urd.
- Comments: Recommend reading the triple one-shots: Blessings, Perspective, and Vows prior to reading this.
Wrath by Davner (AU)
- Recommended by Sackett
- Synopsis:
Trial By Tenderness by Cevn
- Recommended by Sil X
- Synopsis: A Self-Insert Fic which this troper knows to be one of the single longest pieces of written fiction ever (1.9 million words and counting). Complete with Humor, Romance, Drama and Lots of Esoteric Jargon.
The Goddess and the Sky by Will Z
- Recommended by Davner
- Synopsis: A cosmic mix-up gives the wish intended for Keiichi to Sora Hasegawa who mistakenly wishes that Belldandy were her wife.
Oh My Goddess: The Twilight Hour by Samuel Jacobs
- Recommended by: Inlumino
- Synopsis: Hmm how to describe this, my favorite OMG fanfic of all time? During an attempt to recover an object of appalling power the lives of two (very different) strangers cross those of the Morisato household amid growing and sinister plans of the demon realm; plans which may cost Belldandy her life. As both the demons and Valkyries hunt for what is lost Urd begins her unlikely friendship with a creature that may or may not be linked to the growing chaos. And so Urd’s begins her poignant, bittersweet relationship with what Belldandy describes as “evil” (but is he?) Beneath this the novel is really about love, trust, sacrifice and forgiveness. Faithfully to the feel of the original, the story adds new depth and background about the lives of the “Goddess” characters (Lind in particular). Though a bit more serious than the anime in parts, the story is ultimately the strength in all of us. A good book to curl up with on a cold winter night. Details and Ebook available on website (www.omgterran.com).
- Recommended by Index. Great Fanfic! A book with a huge amount of heart, excellently written. To my great relief the ‘twilight’ of the title refers only to the sky and nothing else.
Oh! My Brother by Christopher Angel (yes, that's his real name)
- Recommended by Looney Toons
- Synopsis: Skuld, on her first wish-granting mission, is dispatched to the home of Chris Angel, a strapping Canadian fellow. Chris spends some time discussing wishes with the young goddess, and forgetting himself, absently says, "I wish I had a little sister like you." Cue the special effects. The next thing Chris knows is he's just been promoted -- to the position of newly-minted god and elder brother to all three Norns -- and the Ultimate Force is already turning his life upside-down to ensure that he moves to Japan and into the Tarikihonganji temple. And when he goes on his own first wish-granting mission, his life gets even more complicated.
- Comments: One of the great 1990s-vintage A!MG Self-Insert Fics that neatly navigates between SI-as-god (despite it being literally true) and SI-as-Butt Monkey. At turns sweet and angsty both, but without going to extremes that might turn off readers. The author has written several spin-offs entitled God's Toy and Turn the Page. It also has a proper sequel in Drunkard's Walk V: Another Divine Mess You've Gotten Me Into. (Disclosure: the latter was co-written with this very editor and fic recommender.)
Crossover Fics
Hell Is A Martial Artist by Ozzallos (Crossover with Ranma ½ and Sailor Moon)
- Recommended by Looney Toons
- Synopsis: Hild, the supreme ruler of Hell, has found a new plaything in a gender-cursed martial artist from Nerima. Ranma Saotome has found an apparent ally and refuge in a strange "magical girl lawyer". But when Urd accidentally prompts a deepening of their friendship to levels unexpected by either, the nature of the game changes for both.
Dire Fates by David Tai and Rod M.
- Recommended by Looney Toons
- Synopsis: Here's something you don't see every day: A crossover between Hellblazer and Ah! My Goddess. With the three Goddesses of Fate all hanging out in Japan instead of keeping an eye on things in the heavenly realms, the level of chaos in Heaven, Hell and Earth is slowly beginning to increase, and there are a lot of not-so-nice powers around who are eagerly taking advantage of this. Enter John Constantine, who after prompting by Mara and the Phantom Stranger, has to team up with Skuld to figure out how to set things right.
Innocence by Gunner
- Recommended by damus2300
- Synopsis: Keiichi and Belldandy battle a Slaaneshi Greater Demon.
Harry Potter and the Ultimate Force by DarkKing666
- Recommended by Jonathan SCE, Looney Toons
- Crossover with Harry Potter
- Synopsis: When an alarm go off in the Prophecies section of Heaven warning that a prophecy has gone astray, it is up to the three goddesses and Keiichi to fix it. Starting with them all moving to England and adopting a certain 8 year old boy…
- Comments: Has a manipulative Dumbledore trying to get Harry back.
- Set in 1989, two years before Harry goes to Hogwarts. However, the canon of Ah! My Goddess is current to chapter 278, published in the fall of 2011.
- Complete at 22 chapters as of October 2015, it has a sequel in Harry Potter and the Circle of Light, which is still active as of early 2020.
Shipping Fics

- From Choix: "People are the slaves of their choices, and while the consequences of Urd's choices prove to be merely annoying, the consequences of Peorth and her lost lover's choices could change Creation forever."

- Pairings: Belldandy/Keiichi, Keiichi/Copycat Sue
- Synopsis: Belldandy gains a real rival for Keiichi's affection in the form of a Copy Cat Sue who is a sympathetic character. It doesn't help that this rival is pushing for a Tenchi Solution, which flusters Belldandy so badly that she actually starts listening to Urd's advice. Hilarity Ensues. Then the Zombie Apocalypse hits. Yeah, that's right—Zombies. This results in our Heroines entering a Forced Prize Fight of Calvin Ball. Also, Hasegawa apparently Took a Level in Badass by reading The Zombie Survival Guide and is now a Badass Bookworm Meganekko Wrench Wench. Did I mention there was a Zombie Apocalypse reported on the weather channel? Meanwhile, Sayoko is apparently channeling Auntie Entity of Mad Max (which is affectionately parodied) in her new role as Queen of the Disaster Scavengers living After the End in this Scavenger World.
Onegai, Megami-Sama! by MusedMoose (Crossover, Continuation, Complete)
- Recommended by Stratagemini
- Pairing: Peorth/Matagu
- Synopsis: Belldandy isn't the only goddess granting wishes, when Matagu Shido dials a wrong number and Peorth answers, he knows what his wish is. But things almost never go as they're supposed to, especially around goddesses, demons, and half-aliens. Complete!
Gods Willing by Eyrie Productions, Unlimited
- Recommended by Looney Toons
- Pairing: Belldandy/Keiichi; according to the authors other couples were planned, but the story never got far enough to implement them.
- Synopsis: Keiichi makes phone call, gets goddess, gets thrown out of his dorm, finds new place to live. Same as the original, right? Nope. Not when he's attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts instead of Nekomi Tech, and his new home with Belldandy happens to be an apartment rented by college students Gryphon and Megazone...
- Comments: Mid-1990s-vintage EPU trademark self-insert series that got only two installments out in four years before the story's muse cut and run. Not quite as polished as their modern work but still very good in this editor's opinion. While the first chapter is a fairly standard retread of the opening of AMG, it's in the second chapter, "We'll Always Have Boston", that the EPU creative team really shines — in a plot that barely winks at a canon inspiration, Gryphon and Urd team up to rescue Belldandy from Aoshima, who has spirited her off to Boston on false pretenses in order to seduce her and steal her from Keiichi. Definitely worth the read, and mourn that we never got to see more. (Oh, and there are minor crossover elements with You're Under Arrest, which were obviously hooks for future chapters.)
- Recommended by Sackett
- Synopsis: From Timidity: "As a young valkyrie, Lind is given the mission of defending a young cavalry officer, but the arrival of a love god with his own mission complicates matters, forcing Lind to choose between her mission and her heart."
- From Resolve: "150 years after "Timidity," Lind makes a life-changing decision. But will her desire end up breaking up Keiichi and Belldandy?"
