Action Girl/Western Animation
- She-Ra: Princess of Power has the title character, as well as Huntara, a purple-skinned Grace Jones lookalike who has no powers except a bunch of really cool weapons, but held her own against She-Ra in a one-on-one fight.
- In fact, most of the women in the show were Action Girls, and the guys were the James Bondage types. Understandable since the show was created as the girl's version of He Man and The Masters of The Universe.
- The Continuity Reboot She-Ra and the Princesses of Power turns this up to Eleven, making that setting a World of Action Girls.
- Sally Acorn, Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, Bunnie Rabbot. The two are The Hero and The Big Guy of their Five-Man Band.
- Mira Nova, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.
- Colleen, Road Rovers.
- Leela, Futurama.
- Lay Mamery in Monster Allergy.
- All three of The Powerpuff Girls.
- Sam, Alex, and Clover of Totally Spies! seem to take turns being competent.
- Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman, Justice League. In Unlimited we gain Huntress, Black Canary, and Vixen.
- Artemis, Miss Martian, Zatanna, Black Canary, Rocket, Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl, Batgirl, and Bumblebee in Young Justice.
- Toph, Katara, Suki, and Ozai's Angels (Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee) on Avatar: The Last Airbender; at this point they outnumber the male badasses.
- Avatars Kyoshi and Yangchen seemed to have been quite the Action Girls themselves. Especially Kyoshi, who split a fucking island in two during a battle.
- The Legend of Korra, has Korra the current Avatar, a Child Prodigy, Lightning Bruiser and Spirited Competitor when wielding her considerable Elemental Powers.
- Chief Lin Bei Fong: Head of Republic City police, metal bender and Toph's daughter.
- Korra also has Asami Sato, a continuation of the Avatar 'verse's Badass Normal tradition. She's a polite young lady living in Republic City, and has had extensive self-defense training.
- Kim Possible beats up super-villains for kicks, using only her cheerleading skills. She can do anything indeed.
- The same goes for Teen Titans's Starfire and Raven.
- Diana the Acrobat in Dungeons and Dragons. To a more subtle degree, also Sheila the Thief.
- Adult Jade of Jackie Chan Adventures.
- Lioness from Alpha Teens On Machines.
- Shao Lin from Captain Simian and The Space Monkeys.
- Niko from Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers, who also had Psychic Powers. Galaxy Rangers also boasted Action Girl recurring characters like Princess Maya, Annie O, and Audra Miles.
- From the same creator, all of the Jewel Riders.
- Carbine, a recurring character on Biker Mice From Mars.
- Candy from Dave the Barbarian. Sometimes parodied, sometimes played straight. Also Fang, Candy's much more aggressive younger sister.
- Sara from Chaotic. Admittedly she looks like the Faux Action Girl for most of the first season, and is quickly defeated in the first battle she has, the first battle of hers that the viewer actually SEES is one of the most intense combats in the series up to that point.
- Some female creatures on the show also provide examples, such as Intress, Laarina, and Takinom.
- Cera from The Land Before Time. Granted as a dinosaur, she lacks the attractive appearance, but you have to respect a girl who can shatter rocks with her head.
- More of a Cute Bruiser, though.
- Valerie Gray from Danny Phantom. She's been stated as a ninth degree martial artist despite being only fourteen.
- Sandy Cheeks from SpongeBob SquarePants before being flanderized into a Gadgeteer Genius.
- From ReBoot, all of the main female characters were more than capable of holding their own, though AndrAIa was the only one to be consistently in the fight. Dot and Mouse were more often used for their command and technical skills.
- Kiva from Megas XLR.
- Yumi Ishiyama from Code Lyoko. Aelita also grows into one throughout the series, to settle it starting Season 3.
- Rose from American Dragon: Jake Long.
- Jessica from Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return, as she proves by single-handedly defeating the Big Bad's pet dragon and knocking down Orrore Profondo (the second strongest of the Volcano Gormiti)
- Elisa Maza in Gargoyles.
- And Fox, and Demona, and Angela, and Princess Katherine... Heck, every female in Gargoyles fits this, even Maggie the Cat is a superhumanly strong, winged mutant who can shoot lightning bolts from her hands.
- Princess Fiona in the Shrek series. Queen Lillian is implied to have been one, once.
- Wendy from South Park seems very likely to grow up into one of these based on her Crowning Moment of Awesome in season 12. (Kicked Cartman's ass.)
- Nova from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! fits this perfectly. Want proof? Her weapon of choice is a pair of Giant fists.
- Transformers has a pretty good record with this, despite females being in the extreme minority.
- Transformers Generation 1: The female Autobots, and later, Arcee.
- ...right up until Transformers Headmasters, at which point she became a docile stay-at-home Extreme Doormat.
- Beast Wars: Airazor and Blackarachnia.
- Transformers Energon: Arcee.
- Transformers Cybertron: Override (male in Japan) and Thunderblast.
- Transformers (film series): Mikaela.
- Transformers Animated: Blackarachnia, Strika, Starscream's female clone and Sari, after she took a level in badass. Professor Princess might technically count, although she's more about the gadgets than actual combat. Arcee might have been one, but never got the chance.
- Transformers Prime: Arcee.
- Transformers Generation 1: The female Autobots, and later, Arcee.
- The girls of the Codename: Kids Next Door, including Numbuh Three (Kuki Sanban), Numbuh Five (Abigail Lincoln) and Numbuh Three Sixty Two (Racheal Mckenzie).
- Atomic Betty; also on the show, Sparky's mother qualifies, as does Batty's grandmother.
- Nefer-tina of Mummies Alive
- Gadget from Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers can turn into one if need be, especially in "The Case of the Cola Cult".
- Like father like daughter, and so we get Jessie Bannon from The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. Played hilariously when Jonny refuses to shoot a villain, but Jessie picks up the pistol and says she hasn't got that problem.
- Courtney from Total Drama Island definitely has Action Girl moments, such as ripping a lamppost off its base and hunting Harold down with it, and wrestling sharks in Total Drama Action.
- And say what you will about Heather, but first season she definitely held her own in the more physical challenges. Though in the first season, she could also qualify for being a Dark Action Girl.
- Don't forget about Gwen, who once kicked a serial killer in the face. And for that matter, Leshawna has her moments. And Eva, though we didn't get much of a change to see it.
- There's also Izzy, who gets into fights with a Scary Black Man twice her size.
- Heck, all the original female contestants except Blaineley and Sadie.
- Also, every female contestant on Revenge of the Island, except for Dawn and Staci, qualify as well.
- Most of the major female characters on Phineas and Ferb get a chance to play Action Girl at some point or another. Recurring character Vanessa may be the best example, though Candace, Isabella and the other Fireside Girls get plenty too. (Candace once wrestled an alligator for an Achievement Patch. The very fact that this was an Achievement patch for preteen girls speaks volumes about the Fireside Girls.
- Jem and her band were no strangers to action...neither were their rivals, the Misfits.
- Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Tecna, Layla, and Roxy from Winx Club form a Magical Amazon Brigade.
- Sheila Sternwell from Time Squad.
- Lana from Archer.
- Also, weirdly, Malory and Pam.
- Pricess Ariel from Thundarr the Barbarian.
- Cheetara in Thundercats. Thoroughly Xenafied in ThunderCats (2011).
- Roll from the Mega Man cartoon.
- In My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, pretty much all of the starring mares get their turn. Most obvious are Rainbow Dash and Applejack, while Twilight Sparkle is a Badass Bookworm, Pinkie Pie is an Earth pony who can catch up to even Rainbow Dash, Rarity should never be kept prisoner, and Fluttershy's outbursts can be... surprising.
- Spinelli from Recess.
- Fiona from Kid vs. Kat. Although she prefers to channel her skills into sports, she can still hold her own when she gets in trouble.
- Kylie Griffin from Extreme Ghostbusters.
- Many female Jedi from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, most notably Ahsoka Tano. Padme also qualifies as well as any other females.
- In Rick and Morty. Both Summer and Beth can be such if they want to, and many alternate Beths and Summers even more so encountered by the cast play the Trope straight. Summer straddles close to Dark Action Girl in some episodes.
