Mitchell Hibberd

Mitchell Hibberd (born 23 September 1996) is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Mitchell is the son of Tasmanian business tycoon and ex Clarence Football Club legend Michael Hibberd.

Hibberd was drafted by the North Melbourne Football Club with pick 33 in the 2015 national draft.[1]

He made his debut against West Coast in the opening round of the 2017 season at Etihad Stadium.[2]

Hibberd was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2018 AFL season.[3] He spent the 2019 season with Victorian Football League club Williamstown, where he was named in the VFL Team of the Year and led the club for votes in the J.J. Liston Trophy count.[4]

He was recruited a year later by the Essendon Football Club in the 2019 Rookie draft.[5]
