Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries

The Department of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries (formerly the Department of Environmental Affairs) is one of the departments of the South African government. It is responsible for protecting, conserving and improving the South African environment and natural resources. Formerly the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism from 1994 to 2009. In June 2019 the responsibility for forestry and fisheries was transferred from the former Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the department was renamed.[1]
