Brezovica na Bizeljskem

Brezovica na Bizeljskem (pronounced [ˈbɾeːzɔʋitsa na biˈzeːlskɛm]; in older sources also Brezje,[2] German: Birkdorf[2]) is a settlement south of Bizeljsko in the Municipality of Brežice in eastern Slovenia. The area was traditionally part of Styria. It is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.[3] The settlement includes the hamlets of Gmajna, Stari Dom, Zaklen, and Kokotinjek.[4]

Name

The name of the settlement was changed from Brezovica to Brezovica na Bizeljskem in 1953.[5] In the past the German name was Birkdorf.[2]
