Zschirnstein

Zschirnstein is a mountain of Saxony, southeastern Germany. It sits in the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains which are located in the Reinhardtsdorf , Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna municipality, in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district . They are about 7 km south of Bad Schandau in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, west of the Elbe, not far north of the Czech border.

The 561 m high Große Zschirnstein is the highest mountain in Saxon Switzerland .

The Kleine Zschirnstein is also a sandstone table mountain. It is 473 m high and lies north of the Großer Zschirnstein.

Both table mountains are in the forest and can be climbed on foot. They offer wide views of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and beyond.
