Wahocha

Wahocha is a Jatt tribe descended of Arabic Muslims which came into India (now Pakistan) with Muhammad Bin Qasim in 712 A.D. Their history is not clear but they are actually a Jatt tribe according to revenue records. Sheikh Mahmood Wahocha was the father of this caste. He is buried in Paharpur District layyah, Punjab, Pakistan. They live in various parts of Pakistan – Taunsa, Dera Ghazi Khan, Ghazi Ghat, Jampur, Lodhran, Larkana in Sindh, Kasur districts, Ahmadpur Sial, some parts of Musa Khel and at the border near South Waziristan, and Rakni in Balochistan.

Their chiefs are known with various terms like Sardar, Malik and Shaikh according to regional customs in the country. Their language is Saraiki in South Punjab, Punjabi in Upper Punjab and Balochi in Balochistan and Sindhi in Sindh province.
