WITZ FM is a collaborative audio cd by Roberto Paci Dalò and FM Francesca Mizzoni released by LADA FREE, a project of Giardini Pensili and Western Front Vancouver with releases fully downloadable for free. It was released in February 2006 under the copyright FM + RPD © 2005 on the site of the label L'Arte Dell'Ascolto.

Background

WITZ FM is a contribution to Reverie: The Noise City[1] [2] and to Art’s Birthday 2005[3]. During December 2004 in Italy, and in January 2005 through a residency at the Western Front in Vancouver, sounds of cities and nature, collected through field recordings in urban spaces and in liminal areas, form a database of original audio files [4].

Reception

A mapping action of the urban space. The invisible architecture (the sound) overimposed on the "real" visible one. The public space and the city created through levels of memory.

WITZ FM intends to develop as more as possible collaborative proceeds with the other participant artists both in Vancouver and from remote locations.
