Venezuelan wood quail

The Venezuelan wood quail (Odontophorus columbianus) is a bird species in the family Odontophoridae. It is found in the Venezuelan Coastal Range. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Feeding

The Venezuelan wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
