Vaa Deal

Vaa Deal (transl. Come deal) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action film directed and written by Rathina Shiva. It stars Arun Vijay and Karthika Nair. The film has music by Thaman. Having been in production since 2012, the film has been delayed for several years. The film will finally release directly on OTT in 2020.[1]

Production

The collaboration between Arun Vijay and debutant director Siva Gnanam was announced in August 2012. Karthika Nair signed in film .[2] The initial shoot took place in Pazhani later that month.[3]

The first schedule of the film was held in Theni in October 2012.[4] The climax shoot in March 2013 was scheduled to take place in a set worth 60 lakhs erected in Saidapet, Chennai but was postponed to avoid disruption to school exams. Thus the team relocated and began filming again in Pondicherry.[5][6] In January 2014, film's title was changed from Deal to Vaa Deal.[7] Despite being completed, the film has remained unreleased due to some unavoidable reasons and Rathina Siva went on to direct films like Rekka (2016) and Seeru (2019).

Release

The movie was initially planned to release in December 2015. However, it was pushed on 26 August 2016, but it has since been indefinitely delayed due to some financial issues. In an Interview, Arun Vijay stated that the problems would be solved soon and hoped that the film will release soon. After a long delay, the film will finally release directly on OTT in 2020.

Soundtrack

Music is composed by Thaman uniting with Arun Vijay for second time after Thadaiyara Thakka.
