It is endemic to Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, and Tamaulipas states in northeastern Mexico]]. Its natural habitats are temperate forests and hot deserts.

Cultivation

Inside the complex of species Turbinicarpus pseudopectinatus has been inserted Pelecyphora pulcherrima (Sabatini, 1991), which is characterized, when an adult, by a brief and clear central spine, angled of 45° to the body of the plant.
