Trostianets, Vinnytsia Oblast

Trostianets (Polish: Trościaniec) is an urban settlement (town) in Vinnytsia Oblast (province), located in the historic region of Podolia. It is an administrative seat of Trostianets Raion. The town is located on the Trostianets River that is a tributary of the Southern Bug. Population: 7,818(2015 est.)[1]

History

Trostianets is first mentioned in 1598. In the past it also was known as Adamhorod (Adamgrod). It was a private town of Poland, located in the Bracław Voivodeship, owned by the House of Potocki.
