Theodore David Martin (born December 21, 1960) is a lieutenant general in the United States Army, who serves as the Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff of United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. He is a graduate of United States Military Academy and was commissioned in 1983.[1][2]

Military career

Martin's military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course (Cavalry Track), the Infantry Officer Advanced Course, the Naval College of Command and Staff, and the United States Army War College. He holds a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, and a master's degree in Business from Webster University.[2]

Lieutenant General Martin has served in a wide variety of staff and leadership assignments including duty in:

1st Armor Training Brigade, Fort Knox, Kentucky
Combined Arms Command-Training, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
Advisor to the Imam Mohammed bin Saud Brigade and later the Prince Sa’ad bin Abdul Rahman Brigade, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Deputy Chief of Staff, G3, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq
Joint Improvised Explosive Device-Defeat Task Force as the Iraq Field Team Leader, Baghdad
Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia, as Armor Branch Chief and Chief of Combat Arms Division
