About the book

"A novel within a novel, The Forty Rules of Love tells two parallel stories that mirror each other across two very different cultures and seven intervening centuries."[9] It starts when a housewife, Ella, gets a book called Sweet Blasphemy for an appraisal.[10] This book is about thirteenth century poet, Rumi and his spiritual teacher, Shams.[9] The story presented in Forty Rules Of Love is basically on "love and spirituality that explains what it means to follow your heart." [11] The author of the book, Elif Shafak got more popularity among the Arab readers after this novel was translated into Arabic language.[12]
