The Convenient Groom

The Convenient Groom is a 2016 American-Canadian romantic comedy television film directed by David Winning and starring Vanessa Marcil and David Sutcliffe. Based on the book by Denise Hunter and a screenplay by Julie Sherman Wolfe, the film is about a called-off wedding and a good friendship. The television film first aired on June 18, 2016, on the Hallmark Channel.[1]

Plot

Dr. Kate Lawrence, a celebrity relationship expert and doctor in psychology, plans to publicly announce her engagement to Bryan, a handsome and perfectly polished businessman. As Kate prepares to share the news, Bryan shocks her by breaking up with her and calling off the wedding. Wanting to save her from humiliation and protect her public image, Kate's childhood friend Lucas Wright steps in and pretends to be Kate's fiancé.
