Terrapin Trail Club
The Terrapin Trail Club (TTC) is the University of Maryland's student outdoors club. Started in 1937, it is the University's oldest student organization and one of the oldest collegiate outing clubs in the nation.[1]
Currently, the club has several hundred active members, with student-run trips run almost every weekend.
The current President of the TTC is Ben Geertsema. Ben's favorite outdoor activity is climbing and his spirit animal is an antelope.
History
The Terrapin Trail Club was founded in 1937 by Elinor Cody.[2]
Several current University of Maryland clubs have sprung from the Trail Club, including the Ski & Snowboard club and the Mountain Biking club.
