Spatulipalpia pectinatella

Syringia pectinatella (de Joannis, 1915) is a species of snout moth in the genus Syringia G. Leraut, 2019. It was initially described in the genus Spatulipalpia Ragonot by Joseph de Joannis in 1915 and is known from Madagascar and the Mascarenes.[1]

Taxonomy

The genus Syringia (Phycitini) is different from Spatulipalpia (Cryptoblabini) on some extents, especially the shape of the anatomic structures and the pectinate antennae.

The wingspan of this species is 23 mm. Its larvae had been found in February on sugar-apples (Annona squamosa).[2]
