History

Simsboro High School was founded in 1855 by James M. Sims. The school became recognized by the state in 1904 and saw the addition of a junior high wing in 2006.[1] The principal is Mr. Rusty Farrar.

Student life

Simsboro High School educates children in grades Kindergarten through 12.[2] Simsboro fields teams in baseball, boys & girls basketball, softball, and track & field. Students can also participate in cheerleading, student government, or clubs and activities such as 4-H.

The senior class of 2008 announced the creation of a newspaper titled TIGER TIMES..

  • Ragan Madden, member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1940 to 1949; district attorney for Lincoln and Union parishes from 1949 to 1979
  • L.D. "Buddy" Napper, state representative for Lincoln Parish from 1952 to 1964[3]

  • Sam Ledbetter, Head Basketball Coach at Jonesboro-Hodge High School (1955-1963), principal at Chatham High School (1964-1969), Superintendent of the Jackson Parish School System (1969-1980)
