Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel

The Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace is a five-star hotel in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. It is located in a central area overlooking the old part of the city and run by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. The hotel was built in 1989 and opened in 1991.

History

The hotel was among a few joint ventures with Western companies during the Communist period. In August 2007, the UAE-based Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority bought the hotel through its subsidiary RAKIA Georgia LLC for US$68 million. The hotel is underwent a major refurbishment costing over US$40 million from December 2014 to June 2019.[1][2]
