Biography
Kilgore grew up in Bellingham, Washington and was raised mostly by her mother.[1] She became a musician in an attempt to meet her teen-crush Daniel Johns.[1]
Kilgore began to gain notoriety in 2014 when she released a Kickstarter campaign for her album A Long and Precious Road which was found by television and movie producer Joss Whedon. Whedon backed the project, choosing a pledge level which included a song written by Kilgore for him.[3] Instead, he wrote lyrics to the song, called Big Giant Me, and asked her to record it. The song eventually became a song on an EP they released together in 2016 called Back to Eden.[2][4]
Kilgore currently performs live in the Austin area.
