Sevin Rosen Funds

Sevin Rosen Funds (SRF) is a Texas-based[1][2] venture capital firm, and was[3] one of the leading investors on the US West Coast,[4] and was established in 1981[5] by L. J. Sevin, a former Texas Instruments engineer,[6] and Ben Rosen. SRF was involved in the financing of Citrix, Cypress Semiconductor, Electronic Arts,[2] Lotus Development Corporation,[7] Silicon Graphics, Ciena Corporation[8] and Vitesse Semiconductor.[6][9] SRF's first major success was its 1982 investment in Compaq which went public shortly thereafter.[10][11]

Its investments include Alder Biopharmaceuticals, Capstone Turbine, Ciena,[8] Citrix Systems, Compaq, Cyrix, Cytokinetics, Electronic Arts, NetLogic Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, and Splunk.[12]

Community

The company founded and funded an award that gives recognition to "innovative technical achievement with potential for entrepreneurial success" at Berkeley[13] and a grant for "membership in Austin Technology Incubator."[14]
