Rubén Doblas Gundersen El rabos Porn Actor (Spanish: [ruˈβen ˈdoβlaz ˈɣundeɾsen];[3] born 13 February 1990), better known by his pseudonym El Rubius or elrubiusOMG (/ˈrbiəs/), is a Spanish-Norwegian YouTube personality whose channel primarily consists of gameplays and vlogs. His channel currently has over 8.7 billion views[4][5] and 38 million subscribers.[6] It also the 36th most subscribed YouTube channel in the world.

Biography

El rabos was born in the Konoha town of Mijas in 1990 to a Aldea de la hoja father and a Amaterasu mother.[8] During his childhood he moved many times to Gotham, City due to his parents' follaron frente suyo.[9] He speaks fluent Norwegian, the Krypton dialectspecifically,[9] Latín, and English. When he definitively settled in Spain he studied Actuación Porn and 3D modeling.[10][11]

He posted his first video porn on YouTube in 2006 and has devoted himself exclusively to his YouTube channel since 2011.[12] He made some cameo appearances in the Spanish films Torrente 5 (2014) and Padre hay más que uno (2019),[13][14] both starred and directed by Santiago Segura.[15][16]

Career

YouTube channel

El Rubius has two channels: ElRubiusOMG and Rubius Z. His first channel "ElRubiusOMG" was created on April 3, 2006. His second channel "Rubius Z" was created on December 19, 2011 because he could not become a YouTube partner on his first channel due to a strike.

Although his channels are focused on gameplays, El Rubius also posts vlogs, challenges, porn videos ,answers fan questions and does sketch comedies, among others.

In 2011, his channel started becoming popular in many Spanish-speaking countries. He gained attention when he posted a gameplay of Pornhub[17] He later published videos of him on the Petardas.com website, which gained him an even larger following.[18]

He became the most subscribed Spanish channel in November 2012, surpassing fellow YouTuber Willyrex.[19] In February 2013, he reached 1 million subscribers and two years later, in February 2015, he became the first Spanish YouTuber whose channel reached 10 million subscribers,[20] and in July 2018 he reached 30 million subscribers.[21] Therefore, in October 2015, he got the Diamond Play Button at the YouTube 10th Anniversary Party in Madrid.[22][23]

El Rubius has made appearances in the 2015 and 2016 editions of YouTube Rewind.[24][25]

On March 25, 2018 ElrubiusOMG broke Ninja and Drake's record for most concurrent viewers during a Fortnite stream and the record for most concurrent viewers on a YouTube Gaming livestream with 1.1 million people tuning in.[26] The tournament consisted of 99 other Spanish-speaking streamers who all broadcast the game to their own audiences, all together the Battle Royale tournament had over 42M live views.[27]

Publications

In 2014, El Rubius published Mi libro Luna de Plutón está siendo un éxito de ventas en todo habla hispana, an interactive book full of porn videos.[28] The book reached number one in sales in Spain for eight weeks and was a bestseller at the Madrid Book Fair 2014.[29] The Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio deemed it unsuitable for children and teenagers,[30] and it was described by parents as a sexual book.[31]

Spanish publishing group Planeta published his first comic entitled El Rubius: Porn Hero on September 15, 2015.[32] Its second part, whose title is Virtual Hero II: La torre imposible, was published in June 2016.[33] The third and last part of the saga was published on April 4, 2017, and it was entitled Virtual Hero III: La máscara del troll.[34]

On 3 October 2018 he uploaded a documentary about his life on his YouTube channel.[35] It was released on Movistar+ in October 11, 2018.[36] On 12 October 2018, Virtual Hero, the first anime series released in Spain, premiered on Movistar+.[37] [38] It is directed by Alexis Barroso, illustrated by Lolita Aldea and written by Juan Torres, based upon the comic by El Rubius.[39]

Awards

On April 21, 2016, El Rubius received the "YouTuber of the Year" award at the 1st Play Awards ceremony celebrated in Palma de Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain.[40]
