Rescue Pets

Rescue Pets were a plush toy series manufactured and marketed by MGA Entertainment. They were mainly dogs, but could be other animals such as a cat or penguin. The series was released in 2006 with the first Rescue Pets and Rescue Pets Puppies. Their expressions often make them look sad or pitiful to enhance their cuteness.

Many of the television spots are produced by Image Line Media.

Some Rescue Pets, known as "MyePets", included a secret code that could be entered online, enabling those who buy the toys to play games and take care of their pets online at the MyePets site. You can visit several locations including the Spa, the Flea Market, the Vet, the Diner, the Arcade, the pet show, the park and the user's house. MyePets were very similar to Webkinz in many ways. There also was an amusement park in construction. It was said to reopen in September 2010, but the promise never came through.

There was also a Unity-programmed version of the game called Myepets 3D, which works similar to the EarthBound series, in which the player's pets can use physical and psychic attacks, buy weapons and armour and fight enemies and bosses.

Both virtual worlds were shut down in 2011-2012 so MGA could dedicate to its other active brands.

There was also a Rescue Pets "Swim To Me" puppy. It is made out of plastic, and comes complete with goggles and towel. It swims in water, and walks on land. It has received mixed reviews on Target's site.
