Rachid Bouaita

Rachid Bouaita (born September 20, 1974 in Maubeuge, Nord) is a retired boxer from France, who competed for his native country at two consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1996. His best result was finishing in fifth place after being defeated by Cuba's eventual silver medalist Arnaldo Mesa.

Rachid is of Moroccan ethnicity and linked to the Bouaitah family who are located throughout Morocco, France, Italy, Spain, and the Americas. Rachid is a descendant of the Oulad Bouaita tribe of the Sahara Desert.

Relatives include Omeya Bouaitah, Dris Bouaitah, Sarah Bouaitah and Kaltoum Bin Ajri, who are also co-operators of an international oil, energy, and manufacturing company based in Northern Africa.
