Personal life

Parulkar was born on 10 October in Mumbai to Sushilkumar N Parulkar & Lata Parulkar. She has two siblings namely Sandesh Parulkar and Sanket Parulkar.Rachanaa was brought up in Mumbai,Maharashtra.

Academics

Parulkar has completed her schooling from Gyan Kendra School. She completed her graduation from Mithibai College in Mumbai. She holds a Master's degree in English Literature from SNDT University. She is a graduate in Bharatanatyam from Nalanda Bharatnatyam Nritya Niketan. She is also trained as a classical Kathak Dancer at Uma Dogra School of Kathak and is a gandha bandhan shagird [1]

Acting career

Rachanaa started her acting career at the age of 18 .She played the lead role of Saawri [2] in well known Zee TV showSaat Phere - Saloni Ka Safar. She was further seen as Akruti[3] in Star Plus show Sapnon Se Bhare Naina.Rachanaa also did a cameo in show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and made episodic appearance in Channel V TV show Gumrah.[4]

Rachanaa Parulkar gained popularity with her iconic Leadrole as Kalpana Vithhal Jadhav (Kalpi)/Kalpana Raghav Singhania in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan (TV series) on Zee TV. She was well noticed for her portrayal of a lower middle class educated girl trying to make space in corporate world. Her dusky looks, elegant personality and expressive eyes added to her girl next door looks and instantly connected with the audience.[5] Her romantic on screen chemistry with her co actor won her the place among romantic actresses on Indian television.

Rachanaa Parulkar was also seen as the main lead on Sony TV Maharani Ajabde , the beloved wife of Maharana Pratap in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. .[6].

Rachanaa Parulkar ranked at 29 position in Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women poll in the year 2014 conducted by the UK newspaper Eastern Eye and media journalist Asjad Nazir .[7] She maintained to hold a rank at 40 position in Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women poll in the year 2015 too.[8]

She also ranked in Top 3 in UK biggest poll LuvTV20 conducted by Sabras Radio and organised by Raj Baddhan in the year 2014

She has been seen in many magazines namely FILMFARE . She was on the cover page of Hindi popular magazine “GRIHA LAXMI” , times out magazine, Femina , gr8 magazine .
