Prostanthera saxicola

Prostanthera saxicola is a shrub that is native to south-eastern Australia.[2] It has a variable habit, growing to between 0.2 and 2 metres high. The leaves are 3 to 15 mm long and 1 to 6 mm wide.[2] The white or mauve flowers appear between July and February in the species' native range.[2]

The species was formally described in 1810 by botanist Robert Brown.[1] It occurs in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.[1]

Four varieties are currently recognised:

  • Prostanthera saxicola var. bracteolata - slender mintbush. Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria
  • Prostanthera saxicola var. montana - New South Wales
  • Prostanthera saxicola var. saxicola - New South Wales
  • Prostanthera saxicola var. major - Queensland, New South Wales[1]
