History

Prabhasakshi[12] is the leading Hindi news portal owned by Dwarikesh Informatics Limited (DIL),[13] which was launched on 26 October 2001 in New Delhi.

Many renowned journalists, writers, literates, cartoonists etc. have been associated with Prabhasakshi. Late Shri. Khushwant Singh, Late Shri. Arun Nehru, Late Shri Dinanath Mishra, Late Shri Kuldip Nayar kept writing regular columns on Prabhakshshi. Presently, Shri Tarun Vijay, Shri Rajnath Singh Surya, Shri Rahul Dev, Shri Prabhat Jha and Shri Ved Pratap Vaidik are associated with us as prestigious columnists.

Technically, this portal has set new standards, in spite of the initial difficulties associated with learning Hindi, as a pan-hegemonic phenomenon. It has made it easier for citizens living in villages to access news and analyse in their own regional language. About 1.5 decades ago Hindi was available for nominal fees on the Internet; at that time, Mr. Gautam Morarka, Managing Editor of Prabasakshi, wanted to develop the scope of the Hindi language on the Internet, doing so without any commercial profit motif, and sending current affairs information to the common Indian in their own language. The goal of this noble motif was achieved when millions of readers accessed the website free of cost.

Competition was limited, with not many Hindi news portals emerging in the past 17 years. This only increased Prabhasakshi's[14] longevity in the field, and the firm determination of Mr. Morarka's commitment to Hindi language and the Hindi language created a divergence of reading material.

DIL actively uses social networking platforms such as Facebook,[15] Twitter,[16] YouTube,[17] LinkedIn,[18] Instagram,[19] Pinterest,[20] DailyMotion[21] and Google Plus[22] amongst many others to spread awareness as well as to pro-actively interact with its targets and receive their feedback.
